Presidents Night – The Sneakers
Our Presidents Night will be a great evening of the very best music featuring popular local band The Sneakers. Our new President Steve Collins who will be hosting the evening of music in aid of Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival is thrilled that such a well-known and popular act were able to come along and support such a great charitable cause.
The Sneakers are a hugely popular band locally and have quite a dedicated following, the band play hits from the late fifties the sixties and early seventies so you can expect to hear The Sneakers to play songs from Elvis ,Everly Brothers, Beatles ,Roy Orbison, Buddy Holly and Chuck Berry to name but a few.
The band are very well established with Billy Colvin on bass and vocals, Billy is a local guitar teacher and has played in numerous bands including Big Guitar, Back Beat amongst others. Dave Stock will also be on guitar and vocals and is a previous member of Spirelaine. Completing the band ex Spirelaine member Paul Brimble will take to the drums, it will be especially good to see Paul back on the drums following his recent ill-heath.
Also performing will be talented local carnivalite Harriet Brixey the Somerset Event Singer, a very capable and talented solo singer with performances including front of curtain at the prestigious Bridgwater Concert series.
It’s all set to be a spectacular night of truly local music for a great local charity held in the very heart of the town, tickets are available online from www.illuminatedcarnival.co.uk and includes a free buffet and a well-stocked bar being run by the Midsomer Norton Community Trust.
